Mermaiding might look easy, but there is a lot of skill that goes into looking graceful and elegant underwater while staying safe.
Mermaiding is a PADI certified discipline with real skills, safety standards, and training similar to how scuba and freediving are learned. Your mermaid instructor will give you the techniques to swim like a mermaid, control your buoyancy, improve your breath-hold, keep you safe, help you learn about equipment, and have fun!
It’s a unique set of skills to learn, and there’s a whole community of mermaids to join in Australia and around the world!
Courses include: PADI e-learning, mermaid tail and monofin equipment hire, pool hire, and video footage to take home.

PADI Discover Mermaid Experience
If you’re not sure a mermaid course is for you, you can try it first! This introduction to mermaiding experience is held in the pool. Try on a tail and do some swimming, get beautiful photos and videos. Lots of fun, great for kids and grown-ups!

Ages 6+
Note: This is an experience and not a certification course. Safety and mermaid techniques are not taught in this Discover Mermaid Experience and it is conducted under the close supervision of the PADI Mermaid Instructor.
PADI Basic Mermaid Course
This course is taught in the pool and covers basic mermaid swimming techniques, safety skills, equipment, and mermaid diving’s background and culture.

Note: This course is a pre-requisite for PADI Mermaid and PADI Advanced Mermaid.
PADI Mermaid Course
This course is taught in the pool and takes your basic mermaid skills to another level! Perform longer breath-hold dives and learn additional techniques that make mermaiding a graceful and self-expressive underwater art.

Note: Basic Mermaid is a pre-requisite for this course. Courses can be combined, please ask!
PADI Advanced Mermaid Course
This course is taught in the ocean and expands upon the prerequisite PADI Mermaid course. Learn how the open water environment differs from a pool or confined water, and what considerations you’ll need to make when mermaiding in the ocean.
